Westmeath Tidy Towns winners announced

 

 

There were no surprises for Westmeath in this year's Tidy Towns results, announced on Monday.

As it has for many years past, Ballinahown topped the table, with 327 points, winning the county award of €1,000.

Tyrrellspass obtained 318 points and came in second, winning €800, while third place in Westmeath was awarded to Glasson, which obtained 307 points, and which won €500.

A second award also came Ballinahown's way, in the form of a bronze medal award, which carries a prize of €400.

Also awarded a bronze medal and €400 was Athlone (305).

Streamstown, meanwhile, with 302 points won the Endeavour award for Westmeath after improving its showing by 4.1379 per cent over its 2017 performance. The award brings a prize of €500.
