Friends of Regional Hospital Mullingar MRI Scanner Fund nearing target

The MRI fund is now at €880,000 and getting ever closer to the target of €950,000.

John W McGrath, chairman Friends of Regional Hospital Mullingar, told the Westmeath Examiner this weekend that there has been good progress.

“We now need to see progress towards getting the building to house the machine built.

“The plans for this building require the old lodge house to the left of the front gate be demolished.

“This is  a listed building and we are please to note that Westmeath County Council have started the process to have it de-listed.

“When this is completed it will allow the Hospital to apply for planning permission.

“We are eager that the construction should start as soon as possible.”
