Milltown GAA say they have all the ingredients for a successful cookery demo this Friday.

Milltown set for its Kevin Dundon cooking evening

Celebrity chef Kevin Dundon is coming to Milltown Community Centre this Friday night, March 8 for what promises to be an exciting evening.

“We’ve been working on this for the last six to eight months,” says Paul Heduan, treasurer of Milltown GAA, which has organised the event.

That process has seen the organisers succeed in attracting along a number of local artisan food producers who are to have stands at the event.

In addition, the club was delighted to win the support of Buckley’s SuperValu, which has come on board as major sponsor for the evening.

“We also have Kevin Matthews on board to do the sound and light, and he has arranged tv screens all around the hall so that even if you are at the back, you’ll be able to see everything,” says Paul.

There’s a fair bit of excitement locally about the event, and, says Paul, Kevin’s focus is to be on healthy foods, using healthy locally-sourced ingredients.

The food producers from the area taking part are Tara’s Jams, Cole’s Home Bakery, Olivia’s Chocolates and the Lakeland Beekeepers.

Also participating are “Maria Inspiractions” cards and stationery  and “Bambrew”, suppliers of reusable eco cups.

Any other food producers who would like to take part will need to contact the organisers quickly, to ensure a spot can be reserved for them.

Tickets for the event cost €20 a head, and Paul McCaughey on 087 750 3149 is the man handling ticket sales.

Doors to the hall open at 7pm and the demo gets under way at 8pm.
