Friends of Regional Hospital Mullingar awarded €500 by Aldi's Green Road Mullingar staff

Aldi has announced that Friends of Regional Hospital Mullingar is the latest charity to benefit from its Community Grants programme.

Aldi’s Green Road Mullingar store staff have awarded the charity a €500 grant in recognition of its work and to help support its vital services.

The €500 bursary cheque was presented to John McGrath and Marie Moriarty from friends of Regional Hospital Mullingar by Sarah Ennis-Lennon, Aldi’s Green Road Mullingar store ‘Charity Champion’.

Now in its third year, the programme has supported hundreds of charities to date to the tune of more than €200,000.

John Curtin, group buying director, Aldi Ireland, said: “We are delighted our Green Road Mullingar store employees have chosen to support Friends of Regional Hospital Mullingar.

“Its fundraising work to assist Regional Hospital Mullingar makes a huge difference to the hospital.

“Supporting the communities our stores serve is something that we truly believe in.

“Through our Community Grants programme and partnerships with both FoodCloud and Foróige on a national basis, we have been able to directly help many of the worthwhile charities and organisations making a huge difference to County Westmeath.”
