Darkness Into Light event on Market Square this Saturday

The Mullingar Darkness into Light committee is holding a launch event this Saturday, April 6, (2 -2.30pm) on Market Square.

PRO Rebecca O’Callaghan said the aim of the launch is to raise awareness of Pieta House and other services there for those who need help.

There will be dance, music and verse.

Also on Saturday, members will help intending participants with online registration in The Greville Arms Hotel from noon on Saturday.

“In line with our four-year plan we have moved our Darkness into Light walk to Scoil Mhuire Christian Brothers Primary School this year,” says Rebecca.

“Last year more than 2,000 people from the community walked from darkness into light from Gaelscoil an Mhuilinn – it was a tremendous turnout and we’re hoping to build on that again this year.

“We will be helping people with online registration in the Greville Arms from noon to 2pm, taking a break for the launch, and then reopening registration between 3pm and 4pm once again.
