Beginner's luck for midlands man who lands €500,000 Daily Million prize – two days after he sets up National Lottery online account

A lucky man from the midlands who won €500,000 Daily Million prize when he played his numbers online revealed that he only set up his online National Lottery account two days before his big win.

The ecstatic winner, who scooped the top prize on Tuesday’s 2pm Daily Million Plus draw, could barely believe his luck as he picked up his cheque.

He said: “I can’t believe it, it’s crazy.

“I just opened my National Lottery account at the weekend and now I’m staring at a cheque for half-a-million euro.

“It’s an incredible feeling!

“I got an email telling me I was a winner so I read it and then logged into my account and saw that I won.

“I tell you, it was the best email I ever got in my life!”

Speaking on any future plans for his windfall, the man said: “I am going to lodge this money to my bank and I’m going to wait for a few weeks and make my plans before I spend a cent of it.

“It’s an exciting time but I am going to do my best to remain calm and I am only telling three or four of those closest to me!”

His special lucky numbers were: 2, 17, 20, 30, 34, 39 and the bonus ball was 32.

This latest €500,000 win is the ninth top prize win so far in 2019 on the Daily Million and Daily Million Plus games and is the second top tier prize won by an online player. It is also the fourth top prize win on Daily Million Plus so far this year.

This win is the fourth top prize win on Daily Million Plus so far this year and a total of €7,000,000 in top prizes has been won by players of both our Daily Million and Daily Million Plus games in 2019.
