Local hospital still accepting CVs for staff to help in fight against Covid-19

Interviews for additional staff for the Midland Regional Hospital began a week and a half ago – but the hospital is still looking for more staff, it has confirmed this week.

As the health services deal with the arrival in Ireland of the Covid-19 coronavirus, two interview boards began conducting interviews on Friday March 20, and these continued on over the course of two further days this week.

A spokesperson for the Ireland East Hospital group, of which Mullingar is a part, said that CVs for nursing, midwifery and health care assistant (HCA) posts continue to arrive.

Anyone who wishes to submit their CV for consideration can send it to Katherine Kenny, Director of Nursing, Regional Hospital Mullingar.

Retired staff

A number of retired HSE staff are also preparing to rejoin the team at Mullingar hospital.

“We currently are processing retirees to return to the workplace.

There is an abatement policy which allows for special circumstances due to COVID 19,” the spokesperson continued.

For the returning retirees, contracts would be issued on a temporary three-month basis with a date to review.
