Ronan Collins Showband Show returns to Mullingar
The Ronan Collins Showband Show, âReelin In The Showband Yearsâ which was a complete sell out last year, returns to The Greville Arms Hotel, Mullingar on Thursday, January 20.Once again, there is a fantastic new line-up on the show, which will see RTE's Ronan Collins as host and compere for the night. He will also sing his tributes to Joe Dolan and Dickie Rock, which were extremely popular last year.This year a new addition is CRYSTAL SWING - the terrific family group from Cork who are a sensation around the country! Number One with âThe Hucklebuckâ and âHe Drinks Tequilaâ they are rarely off our TV screens and never out of the press! They are great fun, but also great entertainers!The big sound of The Conquerors Showband is also on the bill. One of the greatest showbands of them all they are still packing them in everywhere they go. The Galway boys sang âBaby Blueâ and many more.Des Lee and the The Miami Showband were undoubtedly the biggest drawing band in Ireland throughout the 70s. Des wrote âClap Your Hands, Stamp Your Feetâ one of their many hit records, so they are sure to go down a treat with the audience.Eurovision stars Tommy and Jimmy Swarbrigg, who performed for Ireland in 1975 and 1977 and had 20 hit records throughout their career, including âLooking Through The Eyes Of A Beautiful Girlâ, âIf Ma Could See Me Nowâ It's Nice To Be In Love Againâ âThat's What Friends Are Forâ are in the line-up, while Lorraine McDonald is one of the brightest talents to emerge from the latter days of the showband boom and will also feature on the night.DJ Curtin and The Kerry Blues, have the âbig voiceâ which can cover everything from Tom Jones to Englebert Humperdinck.The show's exciting finale is an sll cast salute to the exciting showband era, with all of the cast joining up in a medley of songs from the unique Showband Years!It's the Showband Show to top them all, bringing you back in time to this magical era.Tickets are now on sale at the Greville Arms Hotel on 044 93 48563.
