Ballymore GAA: Next match: Division 5 v Athlone in Pairc Ciaran, Athlone this coming Thursday March 19th at 8pm. There has been a huge amount of work carried out at the Park and the players and management of Ballymore GAA would urge all residents to take a little time to visit the ground to see the effort that has been put in.Congratulations to all who took part in the final of the Westmeath Scor recently. A tremendous set of results saw the solo singer, instrumental group and dancers all win at the county final and as such go through to the Leinster Semi Final which was held on Sunday 8th March. After a fantastic performance from all concerned the dancers and instrumental group have won through to the Leinster final which takes place this coming Sunday 22nd March in Ballymore at 6pm. The event is ticket only. Good luck to everyone concerned and best wishes from all at Ballymore GAA.Fr Dalton"sSpecial announcement for all parents. Fr Dalton"s in conjunction with the Westmeath Development board have a number of "Myro" hurling helmets available. These helmets are in a variety of sizes and have been made available at a cost of only €40 each (€65 from leading sports shops). Please speak to one of the committee members in the centre on Friday if you are interested in purchasing one of these essential pieces of kit for any budding hurlers. Training continues for children up to the age of 10 every Friday evening in the Community Centre. As normal the sessions are split in two, under 8"s getting underway at 7pm and under 10"s from 8pm to 9pm. The club are also trying to arrange sessions on the Astroturf and under flood lights in Rosemount. Would the parents of children interested please make contact with either Donie Glynn or Martin Ryan. The team would like to tank everyone for the great support.Westmeath Rural CommunityThe board of Westmeath Rural Community Transport Association has recently obtained funding for groups wishing to travel to special events. The type of groups eligible for this funding would be those catering for the disadvantaged or the elderly. Transport to events such as Mullingar Greyhound Track, Kilbeggan races or similar would qualify.
