Ballymore GAA

Ballymore was represented in the Leinster finals held in Ballymore Community Centre Sunday 22nd March. Congratulations to Padraig Keena, who was the winner of the Solo Singing and goes on to the All-Ireland final.Unfortunately Ballymore couldn"t make it a clean sweep but the figure dancers, Majella Murphy, Rosemary Downes, Martha Looram, Miriam Walshe, Deidre McGuire, Maria Shaw, Lillian McGuire and Niamh Keena and the Instrumental l group consisting of Padraig Keena, Thomas Keena, Miaram Walshe, Liz McGuire and Bernie McLoughlin put in fantastic performances and did themselves and the parish proud.Congratulations to everyone who took part and gave of their time and energy to make the finals such a huge success yet again.Junior B - Ballymore"s junior players took on Athlone last Thursday evening, 19th March under lights in Parc Ciaran. With the Intermediate team having played well recently but failing to get a win against Maryland last time out this match gave a chance for some of the fringe players to stake their claim and show the new management team that there is strength in depth.A good and hard fought match ensued and both teams moved the ball well. Ballymore were more than capable of handling anything that Athlone threw at them and as the match progressed edged in front a lead that they kept to the final whistle with a final score line of Ballymore 1-10 Athlone 0-8.A great all round team performance and signs that the hard work in training is starting to pay dividends.
