The Easter Show will include a puppet show, arts and crafts, face painting, egg hunt, and last but not least, a party. Children of all ages are welcome. Cost for a family ticket is €10, and parental supervision is required.M4 WomenThe Club is having Britta Stewart Dolan back to its next meeting on Wednesday 8th April at 10am in the Hotel Castlepollard. Britta will follow up on her previous introduction to reflexology and aromatherapy.Anyone interested in being part ofthe local women"s group - M4Women - come along and join in! Members meet on alternate Wednesday mornings at 10am in the Hotel Castlepollard. Membership costs €20 and the fee is €5 per meeting for members and €6 for non-members. Come along and bring a friend!Labour AGMThe Castlepollard/Coole Branch of the Labour Party held it"s AGM in Hotel Castlepollard on Thursday evening, March 19th. There was a good turnout of members. Many issues, international, national and local, were debated, and discussed at length. The forthcoming European Parliament and Local Government elections, voting for which takes place on June 5th, were also discussed.Among those in attendance were:- Willie Penrose, TD, John Penrose, MCC, Dan McCarthy, MCC, Peter Keaney - member of the Labout Party National Executive Council (NEC), and a member of the Multyfarnham Branch of the Labout Party. Branch Officers were elected as follows:- President - Sean Murphy, Chairperson - Tony Maguire, Vice-Chairperson and PRO - David Kelly, Secretary - John Scally, Treasurer - Robert McClean, Registrar - Derek Scally.Following the election of officers, the AGM moved on to a number of other important matters. Dan McCarthy MCC, was nominated to seek ratification at the Coole Area Convention of the Labour Party to contest the forthcoming Local Government election in the Coole electoral area as a candidate. The nomination was proposed by Tony Maguire, and seconded by John Scally.The all important area of finance and fundraising matters generally were then discussed. Following advice from Peter Keaney it was agreed to hold back on a fundraising campaign until after voting had taken place in the European Parliament and Local Government elections on June 5th.Before the AGM concluded, condolences were expressed to Branch President Sean Murtagh, bereaved in December 2008 by the death of his son, Alfie Murtagh, RIP. Overall the atmosphere at the AGM was positive and forward thinking, with the feeling that the Labour Party are a positive option for voters to carefully consider in June next.Table quizA table quiz in aid of the Coole Playground Fund will be held in Meehan"s Pub, Coole, on Friday, April 17th, starting at 9.00pm. Entry fee per team of 4 is €40. Make a date for an evening of mental gymnastics.CastlepollardYouth ClubCastlepollard Youth Club are having a trip to Funtasia in Drogheda on Wednesday, April 15th, as a special Easter trip for members. The cost of the trip is €10 per child including bus, entrance to Funtasia, and lunch.Those travelling should be at the GAA centre on Pakenhamhall Road at 10 am sharp, and are reminded to bring their swimming gear (swim hat), and some pocket money. The course is being organised by the Coole group. Parents who do not have a babysitter may bring baby with them to the meeting.AccidentA road traffic accident, involving a 4x4 vehicle, and a saloon car and trailer, took place on Sunday afternoon, March 29th, on the Delvin/Mullingar road, approximately three miles from Delvin. Both vehicles were extensively damaged, and two casualties were removed by ambulance to the Midland Regional Hospital, Mullingar.The Gardai, Ambulance Service and Castlepollard Fire & Rescue Service were in attendance. The road was blocked for a period of time.EntitlementsA representative from Mullingar"s Citizen"s Information Service will attend the Library/One Stop Shop, Mullingar Road, Castlepollard, every Friday between 10 am and 1 pm to give advice on entitlements.AlcoholAnonymousA meeting of Alcoholics Anonymous takes place every Tuesday at 8.30pm in Room One, Parish Community Centre, Church Street, Castlepollard.
