The Blizzards get London ready for St. Patricks Day

People heading into central London on Sunday, March 15 for this year"s St Patrick"s Day celebrations will be treated to some contemporary Irish music from Mullingar band The Blizzards.Who are part of a lively line-up that includes traditional music, stand up comedy and live performance, as well as Irish dancing and storytelling.The award winning and platinum selling band The Blizzards, who have supported Kasabian and Kaiser Chiefs, are set to perform on the main stage, and plan to use the chance of performing on the day to build up a fan base for when they break into the English music market sometime soon.They will then return to Ireland to perform their new single "Postcards" at the Meteor Ireland Music Awards in the RDS on St. Patrick"s Day, where they have been nominated for three awards including, Best Irish Band, Best Irish Pop Act and Best Irish Live Performance.Also performing is acclaimed singer Mary Coughlan, whose current album is called House of Ill Repute, and another big seller Tommy Fleming, who is currently touring his A Journey Home album.There will be hundreds of bands and performers on the parade, which begins at Hyde Park Corner at midday, whilst the festival will kick off in Trafalgar Square also at midday and continue until 6pm.
