Rochfortbridge singer songwriter launches album

A songwriter and a talented singer with some American-style country music classics, Rochfortbridge"s Laura Mulligan takes the next step in her career on Friday, April 3 when she launches her new album, 'Soft Place to Fall'.A girl who grew up with a real passion for music from a very early age, Laura is inspired by some of the best artists in her chosen music genre, such as Dolly Parton, Faith Hill and LeAnn Rimes.Always encouraged by her music-loving family, Laura started to show her desire to perform at a very young age, learning her first song at five years of age.With the launch of her new album, Laura will introduce her unique voice to a wider audience, giving her own inimitable interpretation of some well known American country hits. As someone who devotes much of her time to songwriting, Laura has plenty of her own material coming on stream, so we"re bound to hear a lot more from her in the future.On the night of Friday, April 3 at The Hazel Bar and Lounge, Rahugh, Laura will officially launch 'Soft Place to Fall' in the company of singer songwriters John Hogan, Rochfortbridge"s Chris Loughrey, and her father, Toss Mulligan. Laura will also perform as a guest of John Hogan"s on TG4"s "Glór Tíre" programme on April 29.Her new album was recorded in Roscommon, and the Westmeath born performer has fond memories of her time in the studio.'This album was so enjoyable and exciting to create,' Laura said.
