Face of Fuschia finalist from Mullingar
Eighteen-year-old Geraldine McCormack from Ballinea, Mullingar has been selected as one of eight finalists in the Face of Fuschia Competition 2009.A self-confessed "camera shy" gal, Geraldine entered the competition only after staff at Profile Hair and Beauty, where she got her debs hair and make-up done, suggested she'd make a good candidate for the competition.Fuschia, Ireland's only indigenous make-up brand, embodies a philosophy that make-up should enhance natural beauty and be fun and exciting, while also being kind to the skin.Speaking to the Westmeath Examiner this week, Geraldine said she was excited about the competition:"It's not like anything I would normally do, so it's fun from that point of view, but it's also been a good experience for me and something I can proudly put on my CV," she said.Geraldine joins a team of beauties hailing from Dublin, Louth, Offaly and Sligo, who were picked from entries all across Ireland.Hopefuls were asked to submit a headshot to be in the running to win the title.Now in its second year, the Face of Fuschia competition will select a winner that reflects Fuschia's ethos of celebrating natural beauty.The winner will receive hair and make-up styling by leading industry experts and get the opportunity to take part in a professional photo shoot.It is from these photo shoots that the judges will make their final decision on the winning entry.As well as having their photos on display in-store and in selected stockists nationwide, the winner will get €500 worth of Fuschia products, a weekend break at Hilton Dublin, a stunning necklace from Swarovski and an eye catching outfit from French fashion label, Manoukian.Gillian Moore- Brady, Co-founder of Fuschia says; "We are really excited to have selected the eight Face of Fuschia finalists.
