The late Dolores McCarthy-Christodoulides
The untimely death at her home in England, following illness, of Dolores McCarthy-Christodoulides, a member of a well known north Westmeath family and mother of three young children, has caused widespread sorrow and regret.The deceased, who was formerly of Mornington, Multyfarnham and Martinstown, Crookedwood, was laid to rest in Taughmon Cemetery on Thursday, February 18. She had lived in England for more than a decade and passed away at her residence in Epsom, England on February 4, having been ill with cancer for some time.Daughter of Frank McCarthy and the late Mrs. Nellie McCarthy (nee Tone, Mullingar), Dolores was one of a family of four boys and four girls and was just forty two years of age. A devoted mother, she leaves three young children, aged from eight to four years.She was a great family person and always kept in touch, travelling home regularly, and her death at such an early age came as a huge blow to her husband, family, relatives and friends.After being brought home for burial, the deceased's remains reposed at Gilsenan's Funeral Home, Mullingar on Wednesday evening, February 17 before removal to St. Nicholas' Church, Multyfarnham. Requiem Mass was offered in Multyfarnham at 12 noon on Thursday, February 18, with funeral afterwards to Taughmon Cemetery. The officiating priests were Fr. G. Boyle, PP, Multyfarnham, Fr. D. Smith, PP, Taughmon and Fr. John ( Franciscan Friary, Multyfarnham).Sincere sympathy is tendered to her husband Dino; her son David, daughters Sarah and Lucy; her father Frank, her sisters Maria, Therese and Olive; her brothers Anthony, Gerard, Paul and Christopher; her mother-in-law, sisters in law, brothers in law, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews relatives and many friends. May her gentle soul rest in peace.Dolores month's memory mass takes place on Tuesday March 16th at 8.pm Mass in Taughmon.
