25 jobs for Lynn Road bowling

Comments (2) | Print | Email

Some 25 jobs will be created in December when Rock 'n' Bowl and Jungle Joes, Mullingar's first-ever bowling and family entertainment centre opens for business.

The purpose-built facility is behind the O'Brien family's Renault and Mazda showroom on the Lynn Road.

It will feature a 10-lane bowling alley, a children's multi-functional soft play area, a mini-electric go-kart track, a cafe and a number of American pool tables.

There will also be rooms for private party hire, a mini soccer area for under-8s and over 100 car parking spaces.

"We want to provide a new, fun venue for the whole family, whether they want to bowl or clamber or sit with a milkshake," said developer JP O'Brien. "If they want a break, parents can come down on Sunday morning and read the papers while the kids climb or bowl and midweek, they can come and socialise while their children can play to their hearts content in a safe environment," he said.

Special maple lanes for the bowling alley have been imported from the US.
