John Shelly and The Creatures of "Long May You Reign" fame release their debut album this week and play The Stables, Mullingar on Saturday night, March 6.
Having just signed a publishing deal with Big Life Music Ltd (Snow Patrol, The Verve, and Badly Drawn Boy), John Shelly and The Creatures' new single "Long May You Reign" is featured in the Discover Northern Ireland TV, radio and cinema advert campaign.
The band formed in February 2007 and soon after released their first EP "Big Day Out". Following this and a large number of live dates, the band released their first single "Angeline" to much critical acclaim. The track racked up numerous plays on BBC Radio 1, BBC Radio Ulster's "Across the Line" show, U105 FM and Phantom FM in Dublin. The band consists of four full-time members, two of which hail from Dublin and two from the North of Ireland.
Following the success of the latest single "Long May You Reign", John Shelly and The Creatures have most recently been touring throughout the country, with a sellout show in Whelan's, Dublin and winning the "Best New Irish Act" at the BalconyTV awards among many highlights.
They have just finished recording their debut album Dinosaur, scheduled for release on March 5 next.
