Westmeath Food Network's Christmas Food and Craft Market is back for the third year running, and you are invited - to Mullingar Park Hotel on Sunday December 16 (1-6pm).There might be a national recession, but Westmeath is bursting to life with wonderful small food and craft businesses who are working hard (just like Santa's elves) to bring to you great food, gifts, jewellery, and crafts.Admission to the market is free and the variety of foods, from home baking festive favourites, locally reared beef and lamb, confectionary, award winning smoked bacon and sausages, to chutney, relish, and hand-made chocolates is incredible.The producers will be taking orders for nearer to the Christmas holidays.In the craft section available will be locally written books for children, hand-crafted jewellery, cards, wood crafts, artwork, Christmas wreaths and Christmas goodies.Each stand will have a 'food creche' to keep your purchases in top condition while you browse the rest of the market.Proceeds from the raffle on the day will go to Mullingar St Vincent de Paul and like last year, there will be an abundance of hampers, vouchers and great prizes.Westmeath Food Network thanks Westmeath Community Development for its continued support.See www.westmeathfood.ie or email westmeathfood@gmail.com for more.Four food producers from Westmeath Food Network are taking part in the Food Emporium at the National Craft and Design Fair at the RDS until tomorrow, Sunday December 9.
