Niall hits the 10m mark on Twitter

Niall Horan has created his own little piece of social networking history by becoming the first Irish person to reach 10m Twitter followers.

The young singer is rapildy catching up with band mate Harry Styles, who is One Direction's most popular tweeter with 11m followers.

Such is the Mullingar's native's popularity worldwide that since he reached the 10m mark on February 26, he has been followed by another 100,000 fans.

Niall and the rest of the 1D boys are currently on the British leg of their world tour and are playing to full houses everywhere they go. They play Cardiff this weekend, before hitting Irish shores on March 5 when they'll play the 02 Arena in Dublin.
