Whitney welcomes €131k in funding for N4 roadworks

Fianna Fáil councillor Avril Whitney yesterday welcomed the announcement from Westmeath County Council that €84,000 has been approved for much needed restoration works on the N4 in Rathowen and an additional €47,000 for the N4 at Ballinalack.

"I am delighted the Council has finally released this much needed funding as I have been working to ensure these vital restoration works are carried out this year," Cllr. Whitney said.

"I know funding is scare and especially funding for road maintenance however, this is a well justified project and I am sure the residents of this area will join me in welcoming this good news."
