Traffic warden pepper sprayed

A female was arrested yesterday, Tuesday January 14, by gardaí in Mullingar after she attacked a traffic warden in the town with pepper spray.

It is understood that the altercation, which took place on Oliver Plunkett Street at 11.50am, occurred over parking.

The woman, who is in her late twenties and is from the area, was taken into custody at Mullingar Garda Station.

A file is being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions in relation to the matter.
