As part of the Dublin Writers Festival, artist and children’s author Patricia Gibney has been shortlisted for a competition called A Date With An Agent.
If successful, the Mullingar woman could land a publishing deal for her debut crime novel Black Moon.
Patricia has been assigned to meet Madeleine Milburn, a leading London-based literary agent, responsible for publishing some of the biggest names in the industry, on May 17.
“It really is a great opportunity because you really do need to have an agent to get published. Publishers won’t take on unsolicited manuscripts," Patricia told the Westmeath Examiner this week.
