Snap up the chance to see some great pictures

Fans of photography will have the chance this weekend to see some of the best shots of the last year, in the Irish Photographic Federation’s National Club Championship, taking place in Mullingar.

It is the second year in a row for the event to come to Mullingar, and activities will centre around The Atrium at the county buildings.

As the host camera club to this weekend’s event, Mullingar Camera Club will be actively organising a broad range of activities associated with this annual event.  These include:

  • An exhibition of 250 black and white prints which can be viewed by the public on Saturday 17th from 2.00pm to 4.00pm, and a further 250 colour prints which will be exhibited between 2.00pm and 3.30pm on Sunday 18th.

  • The Federation’s distinction sessions are being held in the Auditorium of Mullingar Arts Centre where photographers from any photographic background will seek to gain formal qualifications.  Fifty six panels of prints by individual photographers will be viewed and judged throughout the day.  As with the National Club Championship in the County Buildings Atrium, admission is free and with over 600 prints being shown it is an opportunity to see some very high quality photography.

  • Along with the competition and distinctions sittings, there will be a number of smaller events over the weekend with further details available shortly on the IPF website.

Members of the public can enjoy the work on display as well as having an opportunity to chat to members of the various camera clubs from all over the country.
