Raharneys new calendar captures some familiar faces

A new calendar capturing the essence of the village of Raharney has been launched.

Behind it is Raharney Community Development committee who approached photographer Colm Kerr to help fundraise with a difference.

In it you will see some familiar scenes and faces, including  Kitty Mulvaney and Maureen Donoghue, and the stars of Raharney Hurling and Camogie Club.

“Having lived here for twelve years I wanted showcase the village and its landmarks from Smyth’s Horses on the Hill, to The Island and The Grand Gates.

"I see Kitty Mulvaney and Maureen Donoghue cycle to the village a couple of times a week, they always stop on the bridge for a chin wag and after a little persuasion, they kindly agreed to pose for me,” says photographer Colm Kerr.

At a cost of €10, the calendars are for sale locally in Weir’s shop and can be purchased through contacting the committee.
