Snow warning for westmeath

There’s a 90% chance of snowfall for Westmeath this evening, Monday.

Forecasters are predicting anything up to 10cm of snow to fall in the midlands this evening and into tonight.

Road conditions are said to be treacherous tomorrow morning and it looks set to remain bitterly cold with more sleet and snow forecast for Wednesday, when it will continue to be bitterly cold, with temperatures falling as low as -4 degrees.

Sunday was the coldest night of the year so far, with the mercury dropping to as low as -5 degrees Celcius.
