Just forests competition for kids and adults

Just Forests is a small organisation based in the midlands which is committed to the responsible management and conservation of the world’s forests for the past 25 years.

To celebrate this, Just Forests has teamed up with internationally renowned children’s writer Grace Jolliffe to write a series of eco-stories for kids based on the Adventures of Casper Elder (Just Forests 'talking tree’).

Jack Kelly and the Just Forest Gang are the heroes, and in the first book, Jack learns of the dangers to the forest near his home and is warned of the challenges ahead.

Jack and his family are forced to leave his beloved city of Dublin and move to the countryside of County Clare. For city-boy Jack, that means everything he loves about his life has suddenly changed.

Copies are available to purchase from Just Books, Pearse Street, Mullingar and the e-book is also available to download on the following e-book platforms, Kindle, Amazon, Smashwords, Createspace and iTUNES-just enter the following ISBN: 9781310333255.

To mark the publication, the Westmeath Examiner has teamed up with Just Forests to give readers the chance to win a handsome hand-crafted Irish oak framed picture of the midland’s oldest tree - the 800-year-old 'King Oak’ tree in Tullamore.

The 'King Oak’, is a famous tree, at Charleville Forest Estate, which won third place in the European tree of the Year contest with over 5,800 votes.
The Irish oak frame was made by Tom Roche, founder and (voluntary) co-ordinator of Just Forests, and valued at €200.

The first correct entry out of the bag will win this hand-crafted, Irish oak-framed picture of the King Oak tree.

Not only that, but the next 10 names out of the bag will each receive a copy of part one of Just Forests eco-stories for kids – Jack Kelly Meets the Just Forests Gang.
