Very strong winds for tonight as jet stream passes over ireland

Met Éireann has issued a status yellow wind warning for Ireland.

Strong southwest to westerly winds with a mean speeds of 50-60 km/h will gust to 90-105 km/h in many areas this evening.

Widespread rain dominated most of the day, however tonight, rain will clear to showers soon after midnight and it will become colder.

Tomorrow, Tuesday, will be a showery day. A few of the showers may be heavy with a risk of hail.

Windy again with strong and gusty westerly winds but winds will moderate in the late evening. Highs of 8 or 10 Celsius.
