Its going to be hot hot hot

Today is going to be possibly one of the hottest days of the year so far, according to the super-talented midlands weatherman, Cathal Nolan, who so diligently runs the Midland Weather Channel on Facebook.
Cathal is predicting that temperatures could reach highs of up to 24 degrees Celsius, with plenty of good sunny spells.
As it happens, Cathal is in Kerry this week, where he is an escort in this year’s Rose of Tralee contest.

Met Eireann

Met Eireann is also predicting high temperatures for today.
For tonight, it says there will be some light rain in the west and northwest and along east and southeast coasts for a time also.
Tomorrow will be cooler than today, although the good news is there will be a lot of dry weather again with sunny spells, and while a few light showers may develop in the afternoon, temperatures shouldn’t go any lower than 16 to 19 degrees.

Going on to Saturday, Met Eireann says the day will start dry and sunny in most areas.
“It will probably stay dry for much of the time, but cloud will build during the morning and a few showers will break out in the afternoon. Winds will be light to moderate, southwesterly and it will be a cool day.
“Latest indications are that Sunday may turn out to be a mainly dry day as well with sunny spells. It looks like the rain that was forecast previously will stay south of us, so there is only the risk of some rain now. Winds will become slack in this scenario in most areas and temperatures will remain several degrees below normal for mid-August.
“Monday may turn out to be mainly dry and bright day as well with near normal temperatures, however, Atlantic weather systems are approaching again during Tuesday, and the general pattern of unsettled weather is likely to continue for the rest of next week.
