Weather unsettled for october bank holiday weekend

A status yellow gale warning has been issued by Met Éireann and is due to stay in place until 5pm today.

For the rest of the October Bank Holiday weekend it looks to be very unsettled and will remain so throughout the rest of next week.

A south to southwest wind is blowing today, Friday, in the region of 40-70 km/hr. Rain will develop in the west of the country by afternoon and will continue to spread eastwards overnight to all areas.

This brings with it potential for flooding on local roads as well as fog in midland areas. So please take care while driving.

Saturaday will start out a bright fresh and breezy morning, but will remain cool throughout the day.

Sunday will be mostly dry but it will become windy overnight and remain gusty on Monday with a south to southeast ranging from 50-80 km/hr. Rain will spred across the country.
