Best of luck in Tullamore Colette

Good luck to Colette Claffey, who is representing Westmeath in the 2015 Queen of the Land festival in Tullamore this weekend.

Primary school teacher who enjoys being outdoors, travelling, cycling is a member of the Ballinagore branch of Macra na Feirme.

The WR Shaw Queen of the Land Festival is a Macra-run festival celebrating the talents and achievements of its members.

Featuring contestants from at home and abroad, the festival runs over three days drawing Macra na Feirme members and non-members from all over the country to Tullamore for the weekend.

Over three event busy days they will be appraised by a distinguished judging panel who will take into account appearance, personality, energy, confidence, dress sense, rural knowledge and elocution to choose the contestant which best exudes the qualities of today’s modern rural woman.

This year, music is by Transmitter, Fiesta and many more.

On Sunday night, a Gala Banquet and crowning of the 2015 Queen of the Land will take place.

This year’s WR Shaw Queen of the Land Festival takes place in the Bridge House Hotel, Tullamore, from today Friday November 13 to Sunday 15.
