State pathologist notified over ballynacargy womans death

Gardaí have confirmed this morning that they are investigating the death of a woman in Ballynacargy.

The body of the woman, who was in her 40s, was removed from a house in Ballynacargy and brought to the Midlands Regional Hospital.

The state pathologist has been notified, and is expected in Mullingar early this afternoon.

The scene at the house has been preserved.

The woman is understood to be the mother of two children.
