Greene Farm Food staff in training for charity sportive

Event on May 1 will suit all abilities and all ages

To celebrate National Wellbeing at Work Day on April 8, Greene Farm Food’s staff trained together for their upcoming charity sportive.

Despite the bad weather, they trained at the nearby wetlands, where the factory’s waste water is treated.

Kenneth Greene, who is the managing director of Greene Farm Foods, said: “It is great to see all the staff getting involved in our sportive.

"Everyone’s help and participation is appreciated as we have set ourselves a large target to raise funds for North Westmeath Hospice, Aware and Sightsavers.”

Greene Farm Foods Charity Sportive takes place in Multyfarnham on May 1. Participants can choose from a 5k fun run, 60k cycle or a 130k cycle.

Mr Greene added: “It is expected to be a fantastic community day out with a hot buffet and some great raffle prizes. There is something for everyone. There is the 5k fun run for all ages and abilities and two cycling routes for cycling enthusiasts.”

Participants can register for the event at active.com. Ticket prices are: family tickets €20, 5k fun run €10 and 60k/130k cycle €25. Further details are available at greenefarmfoods.com.
