Warm spell on the way

Get the sunnies out!

It’s bright at the moment here in Mullingar, and Cathal at the Midland Weather Channel is promising us warmth.

“During the course of the week temperatures across the midlands are set to rise drastically compared to late,” says Cathal on his Facebook page.

“By Sunday afternoon temperatures across west Offaly, North Tipperary, East Galway and Roscommon may well reach as high as 21 degrees Celsius.

“The early days of next week will also be very warm with temperatures expected to peak between 22 or 23 degrees Celsius.

“During the afternoon and evening however some thundery showers may well break out across the western half of the midlands.

“Tomorrow, Thursday, will be a mild day across the midlands with some areas seeing some pleasant sunny spells, but also there is the risk of some mist/drizzle across the far west of the region. Highs of between 15/16 degrees Celsius.

“Friday and Saturday will be rather mixed days across the region.

“Friday will start off dry and bright however some heavy and indeed thundery bursts of rain may spread across the country from the east during the afternoon and evening.

“Saturday currently looks like being a mixed day with some spells of heavy, possibly thundery rain.

“Sunday will be the best day of the weekend with some pleasant sunny spells and warm temperatures. Some isolated thunderstorms may develop across the western half of the country during the afternoon. Highs of between 20/21 degrees Celsius.

“The early days of next week will remain warm with some good sunny spells, but also the risk of some thunderstorm activity from time to time.”
