Finbar has sights set on Olympic gold with help of Specsavers

Specsavers Mullingar have presented floorball athlete Finbar Conway with a new pair of prescription sports goggles ahead of Special Olympics Ulster in Belfast.

The Castlepollard man will represent Ireland at the 2017 Special Olympics World Winter Games in Austria next March.

Finbar Conway joined Specsavers Mullingar staff members Karen McDermott, Ciara Morris and Elaine McGovern to try his new prescription sports goggles and had the Olympic medal he won at the floorball qualifying final in April.

Finbar has his sights set on Olympic gold as he takes part in intense training ahead of his journey to Austria.

Having previously taken part in badminton and tag rugby, Finbar discovered a hidden talent for floorball, which is one of the newest team sports to join the Special Olympics programme.

Finbar credits the support of his wife Ursula, his family, Mullingar Resource Centre as well as the community in Mullingar for his success to date.
