10 jobs with opening of Carraig Donn store

Ireland's “leading fashion, jewellery and lifestyle gift store”, Carraig Donn is to open a new boutique in Harbour Place shopping centre by mid November.

Management have announced the arrival of 10 new jobs with the opening, a number which will increase seasonally, and over €1 million in investment between the fit-out of the Mullingar store, and the refurbishment of the Liffey Valley and Douglas, Cork, outlets.

"We're delighted to be coming to Mullingar and just in time for Christmas," said Maeve McCormack, marketing manager with Carraig Donn. "We're putting a lot of investment into the unit. We've very excited at the prospect of opening Mullingar as we feel it's a good fit for Carraig Donn, and I know a lot of new retail units have opened there recently."

With six outlets in Dublin, one in Athlone, the opening of the unit Mullingar will take the total number of Carraig Donn stores nationwide to 38.

"We're also trading online very successfully. We started out as a family business in 1965 with our head office in Westport, and we're proud to say that it continues to be family run business," continues Ms McCormack.

Employing 250 staff nationwide, the boutique department store prides itself on promoting Irish brands and designers.

"That's something that's important to us as a company and we're looking forward to bringing our extensive range of women's fashion, jewellery and lifestyle gifts to Mullingar just in time for Christmas."
