OFFICIAL: Cadbury Cadvent Convoy to visit Mullingar on Friday December 9

Mullingar has been announced as one of the locations along Cadbury’s 2016 ‘Cadvent Convoy’ route – which was revealed today by mother and son duo and '50 Ways To Kill Your Mammy’ stars, Baz and Nancy Ashmawy.

Kicking off with a launch event in Grand Canal Dock in Dublin, Cadbury Christmas trucks packed with festive surprises and events, will be delivering joy across the nation for 24 days in December.

From 6pm to 8pm on Friday December 9 (during Mullingar Christmas Market) the Cadvent Convoy truck will open its doors in Mullingar (location to be confirmed), to reveal magical Christmas scenes, with festive entertainment for the whole family.

From enjoying your favourite Cadbury treats and a Cadbury Grotto, to festive performances from choirs and music acts, the Cadvent Convoy will be spreading festive cheer and helping the nation countdown to Christmas.

During the final two weeks of November, public voting for the Cadvent Convoy was opened via Cadbury’s Cadvent website.

A shortlist of towns and areas in each county across the country was provided for the public to choose from.

Voting closed on November 28, and the towns and areas that received the highest number of votes have won a visit from the Cadbury Christmas truck.

At the Cadvent Convoy launch event, Baz Ashmawy said: “Christmas is all about bringing families together and events like these allow us to do just that.

"Christmas is also about remembering those who need us most and Cadbury have included some important pit-stops for the Convoy, such as the Aware Christmas Run in the Phoenix Park and the Barnardos Toy Appeal.”

Nancy Ashmawy added: “For the amount of times Baz has put the heart across me, he deserves a giant bag of coal for Christmas, but it is impossible to be angry with my baby boy when you see him as excited about Christmas, as he is here today.

"I’ve been calling all my friends and telling them to look out for the Cadvent Convoy route and Baz and I are very happy to be here today with Cadbury, to reveal the results of the public vote.”

You can follow all the Cadvent Convoy action throughout December, via Cadbury’s Facebook and Twitter pages.
