Strong winds of up to 110kms to return tomorrow

Storm Ewan is to take a second swing at Ireland tomorrow, Tuesday.

Tonight will become very wind, up to 60 - 100km/hr is forecast for Ulster, Connaught and parts of Leinster. The gale force winds are set to hit after midnight tonight.

The temperatures is also set to drop to around -2 Celsius before the strong windes arrive, bringing with them mixed wintry showers. By morning it will feel more like -5 with the wind chill effect.

Tuesday will continue windy, with 70-110km/hr gusts forecast around during the early morning and midday when the eye of Storm Ewan comes close to Ireland once again.

It will continue cold with passing sleet and snow showers.

Wednesday will see a series of low pressure areas, bringing with them rain and sleet. Between these passing low pressures it will be dry with some sunny intervals, and will remain very cold, at -1 C during the morning in parts of the midlands.

Parts of the Ulster and Connaucht will experience strong winds overnight into Thursday. This could spread further south by morning.
