Center Parcs team set to host series of Meet the Buyers' days

Firms interested in becoming suppliers to the new Center Parcs resort at Newcastle Woods, near Ballymahon, will have an opportunity to meet the Center Parcs team in Mullingar at the end of this month.

A Meet the Buyers event is to take place at the Mullingar Park Hotel on Wednesday May 31.

The following day, a similar event takes place at The Longford Arms Hotel.

There are two sessions at the Mullingar event – the first being from 8am to 12 noon and the second from 3pm to 7pm.

The Longford session is from 10am to 5pm.

In its invitation to potential suppliers, Center Parcs is stating that the session will enable businesses to find out what opportunities there are to become a supplier to Center Parcs.

The amenity is due to open in 2019.

The two Meet the Buyers events are not intended for companies seeking to get involved in the actual construction of Center Parcs.

In mid April, Center Parcs named the person who is to manage the Longford Forest resort - Daragh Feighery from Kildare.

Work is already well underway on the site of the €230m Centre Parcs site, a 395-acre plot at Newcastle.

When complete, it is to consist of 470 lodges, 30 apartments, a spa, restaurants, cafes and shops, and a ‘Subtropical Swimming Paradise’ and will have a capacity for 2,500 guests.
