Man taken to hospital after Ballinderry Road accident

Ballinderry Road, Mullingar

A man was taken to hospital after a two-vehicle road traffic accident in the Ballinderry Road area of Mullingar this evening.

The accident occurred at around 7.15pm, outside the Newtown Lawns housing estate. One of the vehicles involved flipped onto its roof, the driver of which was taken to the Midland Regional Hospital at Mullingar.

Concerned residents immediately went to the aid of those involved, and the emergency services were called.

Gardaí arrived and sealed off the Ballinderry Road area, while two tenders from Mullingar Fire Station and two ambulances arrived at the scene.
