Storm Ophelia - update from Westmeath County Council

Westmeath County Council is continuing to monitor and gauge the status red warning throughout the county. 

As of 6pm more than 50 weather related calls were recorded, of which the majority related to fallen trees or branches. 

Crews have been on the ground assessing the situation and verifying the reported incidents. 

Crews will be mobilised at 7am on Tuesday 17th to commence the clean-up process county-wide. 

Westmeath County Council’s emergency number 044 9332000 will remain open throughout this period.
