'Capacity Building Workshop' to explore opportunities for blueway and greenway trails on Royal Canal

If you are involved with any of the community groups along the Royal Canal, or with a tourism or activity provider in the area, Westmeath County Council invite you to a ‘Capacity Building Workshop’ to explore the opportunities in developing blueway and greenway trails on and along the canal.

The workshop would be worth spending time at for anyone interested in shaping the outdoor recreation and tourism potential of the Royal Canal, say the council.

Developing the Royal Canal as a tourism destination will include creating and promoting activity, dining, accommodation packages and free promotional materials.

Waterways Ireland are also seeking expressions of interest from water activity providers and/or water activity equipment hire providers to operate from a blueway activity hub in Mullingar Harbour.

The workshop is on Thursday of next week, May 24, at 6.30pm, in Mullingar Park Hotel.
