Statement from Irish Water on supply in Rathconnell

In response to a comment on the Westmeath Examiner Facebook page (about illegal dumping), we sent a query to Irish Water about disruptions to supply in the Rathconnell area.

We received this statement from Irish Water:

“A burst water main caused supply disruptions to some customers in Rathconnell, Curraghmore, Ballagh, Cloghan, Clonickilvant, Hodgestown, Macetown, Mountrobert, Cooksborough, Rathbrack, Edmonstown, Mylestown and surrounding areas in County Westmeath yesterday.

“The repair is now complete and water supply is returning to customers.

“Separately, Irish Water is carrying out network upgrades which may have impacted supply last week.

“We thank customers for their patience while we carry out necessary network upgrades and carried out the repair to the burst water main yesterday and today.”
