Enjoy a Ham Sandwich in Danny's new beer garden

This Friday indie rockers Ham Sandwich are set to appear in the newly decorated beer garden and outdoor stage in Danny Byrne's, with support from new Mullingar outfit Appian Way!

And as it's free entry, yes I did say free entry! So, it's advisable to get in early as the band are in massive demand and guarantee a high energy live performance every time.

Yes, the people who brought you The Naturist, St Christopher and White Fox, reached their biggest audience with the release of their track ANTS, and continue to just keep building and building.

Combining their knack of creating a memorable pop melody with a dark twist and aided by an ingenious animated video, the track became a viral internet accumulating more than 120,000 hits on YouTube. It went on to win best animated video at the third Silversound festival in New York in January of this year.

Due to the breakout success of White Fox in 2011 the band have appeared at SXSW in Texas, Popkomm in Berlin and the twin festivals in Leeds and Reading in the UK.

The Kells band, who have been around and about in one or form since 2003, came into focus in late 2005 with the release of their debut single, Sad Songs, followed by bigger and bigger hits St Christopher and Click…Click…Boom.

The chemistry and strange charm between Podge McNamee and co-vocalist Niamh Farrell, guitarist Darcy and drummer Ollie Murphy, meant that by the time their debut album Carry The Meek was released in 2008, they were awarded the Meteor Music Hope Award.

Their love of varying musical influences, and a healthy distaste for all things mediocre, they have become more and more proficient, meaning that by the release of their second EP, White Fox, was jam packed with radio hits.

This is a gig not to be missed!

Big screen

Danny Byrne's is showing all of Euro 2012 across all nine HD televisions, and are the first bar in Ireland to have an 80-inch HD LED, so you can relax in the spacious bar, lounge on the comfortable couches, to pull up a stool at the bar.

And for all the Ireland games, they are offering a free pint of Heineken to the first 100 people. The only catch is, you do have to don your Ireland jersey! There will also be a BBQ.

However, once inside Danny Byrne's, look out for posters where you can scan their special bar code for a free pint of Heineken. Then simply check them out of Facebook and Like the Danny Byrne's page.

Every Friday Summer Party

Check out their Every Friday Summer Party session, which starts next week outside in the beer garden. A host of special guest DJs have been lined up to place you expertly in that summer party mode!
