Council approval for Ballynacargy business park lands

Westmeath County Council members have given the thumbs up for the disposal of four sites at Ballynacargy Business Park to different businesses for development, much to the delight of local councillors.

"I want to thank Westmeath County Council for purchasing this land back in the 1990s and it is great to see this up and running and bringing employment back to the area," said Cllr. Johnny Penrose at the recent monthly meeting of the local authority, thanking his brother, Dep. Willie Penrose, for his help also.

Councillors gave the go ahead to the disposal of four sites, namely Site 12 to Eugene Larkin of Westmeath Windows and Doors, Site Eight to Edward Kiernan of Tivoli Avenue, Harold`s Cross Dublin 6W, Site Seven to Sean Sheridan and Daughters Construction Ltd. Main Street, Tyrrellspass, and Site One to Proform Ltd., Unit Three of Mullingar Business Park.

Local councillor, Robert Troy, was also full of praise.

"I want to also acknowledge the role Deputy Penrose played with this land, and the role of Maurice Stenson, Ray Kenny, George Lambden and the County Manager in bringing it to where it is today," he stated.

Ballynacargy Business Park is to officially open in September. There is also a few more site disposals in the pipeline, council members were informed.
