Out from the “Old” and into the “New” Whelehans moving into new store soon

Dear Loyal Customer,

Following our store refurbishment, we are delighted to say we will be moving back to our NEW improved premises in early May.

Our newly upgraded facilities will enable us to offer a fully refreshed and enhanced customer experience and also a more extensive range of products and services. As part of our continued commitment to be the leading, locally owned independent chemist, at the centre of your community we have also made significant design changes. We have listened to feedback from our customers and as a result the new store is considerably wider and now has unrestricted access to wheelchair users and for buggies or prams.

New ranges

As well as exciting new products, our new look store will offer all our own brand health favourites including Whelehans traditional tonics, Whelehans deep penetrating moisturising cream, nappy rash cream and foot cream. Classics including the Chanel fragrance range and Elizabeth Arden skincare will continue to lead our cosmetic and beauty department. In addition, we look forward to introducing our new expert makeup range which will be at prices you will love.

New treatment and therapy rooms

As you know we extended our health services in recent times to include a Physiotherapy Service, Chiropody Service, Free Hearing Checks , a 24 hour blood pressure monitoring service, Cholesterol checks and Food intolerance Checks. We offer many of these services at reduced rates for over 60’s. With the addition of three purpose built new treatment rooms, our improved facilities will enable us to add even more healthcare services such as:-

  • Free Post breast-cancer prosthesis and bra fitting (under taken by LARCC cancer specialists),

  • Manual Lymph Drainage undertaken by specialists in treatment of lymphoedema and other lymph-related disorders associated with some cancers and other conditions.

  • Many more services are in the pipeline.

Alternative therapies

Away from the hustle and bustle of the street below, we offer a new expanded range of “alternative therapies” in our new private first floor therapy rooms with private waiting room. This area of peace and tranquillity creates the ideal setting for you to try our range of services which now include Reflexology, Hopi Ear Candling, Swedish Body Massage, Swedish Back Massage and Deep Tissue massage. Our therapist promises you a wonderful experience at prices you can afford.

Extended prescription services

Our free prescription collection and delivery service has proven so popular we now have two vans on the road to keep up with demand. For those on multiple medications, we can arrange your meds in easy to follow daily blister packs at no charge to you. We offer less expensive generic prescription medicines, just ask our pharmacist how we can review your current medication to help you reduce your medicine costs. With our new design, our private consultation room will be bigger and more discreet for that “private chat” with our pharmacist. Be sure to book your private appointment with a pharmacist today.

We are hugely excited about moving into our new facility. We hope our time spent “across the road” hasn’t caused you too much inconvenience. We thank you for your patience and continued support over the last few weeks and we look forward to showing you our improved store at our normal location of 38 Pearse St in the coming weeks.
