Cusack Park upgrade work to be outlined by chairman

A programme of works to upgrade Cusack Park to meet the requirements for 14-15,000 spectators will be among the details outlined by Westmeath GAA chairman, Tom Farrell, in his address at the forthcoming county convention.According to the Slattery Report, a health and safety audit recently commissioned by GAA headquarters, Westmeath's premier GAA arena will require certain upgrades if it is to return to its original capacity.Mr Farrell said that the "phased work", which began with recent improvements to the Mullingar venue's press facilities, will restore Cusack Park's capacity to around 14,500.In light of the Slattery Report, the ground is considered fit to hold a maximum of 11,000 supporters.Further details of the upgrade works will be outlined by Mr Farrell in his address at the convention in Rosemount, which will take place on December 10.
