Whist Drive: On Monday March 23 the Club held its final whist drive of the season, and had a turnout of over 11 tables.Top score: Maura Smith; 1st lady, Eva Mara; 2nd lady, Mamie Cunningham; 1st gent, Pat Davis; 2nd, Geny Joe Gavigan; Highest half lady, Rita Gaffney; highest half gent, Tom Gaffney; last five games (lady) Mary O"Connor; last five games (gent) Julie Lynch. Lowest score: Mary McCormack and Pat Smyth. Raffle: Patsy McDonnell, Julie Lynch, John Harris, Sheila Robinson and Ursula King.Thanks to all who helped us over the past 7 months. A special word of thanks to Peter Gilsenan and Ann Davis who totted up the score cards at the end of the night.; to Philip who collected the money on the door and sold the tickets; to Kathleen, Ena, Mary and anyone who helped out in any way. Club winter leaguesOn Wednesday evening last April 1 the final of the club winter leagues was held. In the final were 3 teams: Team I, Larry McGinn, Kevin Farrell and Pat Smyth; Team H, Michael Flynn, Martin Carroll and Charlie Nolan; and Team F: John Brown, Martin Carter and Conor Milligan (Juv.). This was a very closely fought competition with only one shot separating the three teams. The winners were Team I on a score of +22 with Team H and Team F on +21 but team H won on the break of a tie. Sponsors Joe and Kathleen Bray were on hand to present the prizes.The sponsors of the weekly competition were Paddy Browne, Larry McGinn and Costcutter of Collinstown. Thanks to Mary Carroll who had sandwiches and goodies ready. The course was in great condition also thanks to Colm and all the boys working on same.
