John Joe Nevin arrived in snow-covered Philadelphia to start training last week

St Patrick's Day Boston bout to follow Nevin's February pro debut

Mullingar Olympian John Joe Nevin's pro debut is to make his professional boxing debut in the United States next month, but the exact details of the fight are not yet known.

Before Christmas, it was originally revealed that Nevin's pro debut would take place at New York's Madison Square Garden on January 25 (this Friday), but the fight has been rescheduled for some time in February, with the venue and Nevin's opponent yet to be confirmed.

What has been confirmed is that Nevin's second pro fight will take place in Boston's House of Blues on St Patrick's Day.

Green Blood, promoters for the Cavan Boxing Club alumnus, will reveal further details about the fights over the coming weeks.

The Olympic silver medallist arrived in snow-covered Pennsylvania last week, and continues to train at Bozy's Dungeon Gym, Philadelphia, under the watchful eye of his Cavan BC coach, Brian McKeown.
