This weekend sees the start of the Irish Daily Star National League, and to celebrate the beginning of the intercounty season Westmeath stalwart Dinah Loughlin, far right, joined up with players from Cavan, Cork, Clare, Dublin, Galway and Kilkenny in Croke Park.

Lakeside ladies out in force this weekend

The Westmeath senior camogie team get their league campaign underway this Sunday with a home game against Wexford in Archerstown on Sunday afternoon, throw in at 2pm.

After winning the Division 3 title last year, the Lakeside Ladies will be hoping to get this year’s campaign off to the best possible start with a victory over Wexford.

The Wesmeath minor camogie team are out against Kerry tomorrow, Saturday, afternoon in their first game in the All-Ireland Minor C-Championship. The game is at Castletown-Geoghegan, throw in at 2pm.

The following day, Sunday, the Westmeath ladies senior football team will be hoping to return to winning ways when they take on neighbours and long time rivals Cavan in St Loman’s home ground, throw in at 2pm.
