Castlepollard Notes

Castlepollard Gardening Club had a very successful meeting on Friday, May 1st when Neil Natch from Birdwatch Ireland gave a very interesting talk on garden birds in Ireland. He showed pictures of the different birds that we see regularly and played a tape of the different songs that they sing. Thanks to Ray Wills who organised this talk. There was a competition for the best three tulips and considering the weather had not been good there was a good entry of lovely tulips. The winner was Ena Courtney-Earley and the runner-up was Claire Nangle. All entrants left their tulips to the ladies who look after the flowers on the altar in the Catholic Church and their generosity was very much appreciated.
